Antique cast-iron fireplate

Antique hearth plate, or backplate. Decorative and functional as a back wall/protection of the fireplace and reflection of heat/extra efficiency. ‘t Achterhuis has an ongoing collection of 250 antique cast iron fire plates. These are also called cast-iron fire plates with the function of reflecting heat and protecting your stone firebox. Usually, these plates are in perfect condition. Antique plates with a crack are restored by our very own blacksmith.
